ABOUT WORK STUDY BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THE LISTING OF JOBS
- Work Study is a federally funded program that enables NICC to hire students part-time (up to 20 hours per week) for positions on campus.
- To apply for a work study position, you need to have completed a FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) and have received an award letter from our office. The results of your FAFSA determines what work study fund you will be eligible for.
- Work study job openings are posted below. Once you have found a work study position you are interested in, complete the Work Study Application and send it to the e-mail address of the hiring supervisor. If you are hired for this position, the NICC Human Resources office will contact you to complete the necessary payroll forms to ensure timely payment.

Communications Assistant - Calmar
Job Description/Duties:
- Assist with social media photography and posting, graphic design, event photography and email layout.
- Attend campus student events, take pictures/videos and post to social media.
- Encourage other students to interact with social media platforms.
- Update email addresses in our email communication system.
- Reach out to students to participate in articles, videos, and social media.
Job Qualifications/Skills:
- Applicant must be comfortable typing and basic computer skills.
- Preferred basic photography snap and shoot skills and comfortable editing photos and videos, but can be taught.
- Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram and TikTok preferred but not required.
Hours:
- Times and days vary based on campus events.
- Tuesday and Thursdays 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Wednesday varies
Pay Rate:
- The hourly wage is $10.00

Child Development Center - Calmar
Job Description/Duties:
- Assist classroom teachers with monitoring of children playing with children, art, outside play etc.
- May help with diapering and feeding.
Job Qualifications/Skills:
- Applicant must be fun loving, nurturing, caring, dependable and respectful.
- Must be able to work as a team.
- Must complete paperwork and trainings required for DHS licensing; universal precautions, mandatory abuse reporting, TB test, and CPR and First Aid.
Hours:
- Need workers between the hours of 7:00am to 5:30p.m. (will work with student’s schedule)
Pay Rate:
- The hourly wage is $10.00

Job Description/Duties:
- Doing dishes

Iowa Dairy Center-Calmar
Part-time employee
Job Description/Duties:
- Assist with milking shifts at Iowa’s Dairy Center. Milking shifts are at 4:00am, noon and 8:00pm daily. Shifts typically last 2.5 hours which includes time to power wash the parlor.
- May be scheduled to assist with daily calf chores which occur at 5:00am and 5:00pm.
- May be scheduled for evening robot chores prior to the 8:00pm milking shifts.
- Cows calve on a daily basis and at all times throughout the day. Therefore newborn calves born during your shift and their dams must be processed including colostrum administration.
Job Qualifications/Skills:
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to stand for 2.5 hours during milking shift
- Ability to lift 80 pounds
- Strong communication skills especially with the full-time employees and your co-workers.
- Ability to begin milking shifts promptly at 4:00am, noon and 8:00pm
- Ability to be scheduled every other weekend and holiday.
- Ability to strictly adhere to the protocols established by the Dairy Center farm managers and the Diary Foundation Board of Directors.
Hours:
- Seven days a week at the times outlined above in the job description.

- The hourly wage is $10.00
