IOWA OFFICE TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING

  • This Task has been designed for use by Faculty, Staff. For Faculty, Staff

Iowa Code 85.45A was signed into law late last year and impacts where college funds can be spent on lodging in the state of Iowa.  In order to use public (college) funds to pay for lodging the location must be a certified location.  Before you reserve a room(s) in Iowa for college travel you are required to check that it is on the CERTIFIED LOCATION list.  The training requirement of this rule only applies to lodging staff.  You are not required to complete the human trafficking training.  Your responsibility is to ensure you are staying at a CERTIFIED LOCATION.  College funds cannot be used if you stay at a non-certified location.  This rule only applies to lodging in Iowa.
